Put your foot into the boot and, before lacing it, push your foot all the way forward. Check to see that the space between your heel and the back of the boot is no more than two fingers and no less than one. Then kick the heel of each boot on the floor to make sure that the heel of your foot is all the way back and seated properly in the boot. Next, lace up the boots and walk around the store for at least fifteen minutes (the longer, the better). Question the salesperson about any places where the boot does not feel comfortable.
